to save the mirrors a bit of strain, the build logs will now be compressed.
i already compressed most of the egregiously large ones manually. the others will get compressed next time they are rebuilt. it will also start filtering out lines that begin with 'Warning: Unknown character'. this accounts for something like 3/4 of the size of the ja and kr build logs. jim
