<function>pg_query</function>は、クエリが実行できた場合にクエリ結
果リソースを返します。失敗した場合や
<parameter>connection</parameter>が有効な接続でない場合に &false;
を返します。接続が有効な場合、エラーに関する詳細を
<function>pg_last_error</function> により取得することが可能です。
<function>pg_query</function>は、
<parameter>connection</parameter>リソースで指定されたPostgreSQLデー
タベースにSQL命令を送信します。
<parameter>connection</parameter>は、
<function>pg_connect</function>または
<function>pg_pconnect</function>から返された有効な接続である必要が
あります。この関数の返り値はクエリ結果のリソースであり、
<function>pg_fetch_array</function>のような他のPostgreSQL関数から
結果にアクセスする際に使用されます。

<function>pg_query</function>ではオプションのパラメータです。
<parameter>connection</parameter>が指定されない場合、デフォルトの
接続が使用されます。デフォルトの接続は、
