Maybe it's my last commit to mkindex.php that broke it. (&& $name == 'TITLE') I did it for PEAR to avoid having Tal as title in the sqlite databases (see peardoc/en/chapters/intro.xml, first section)

I have now reverted your fix because it broken peardoc indexing, too. We need to find a better hack for peardoc.
Seems like it's still broken :/ Is it the same for you ? I4m having a look ATM to find the problem.
