Derick? Gabor? I am sorry. I don't know who wrote that. But I comfirmed it too. The php_manual_ja.chm(on 11 Mar 2004) is in Simplified Chinese and English, not Japanese. For a while, it thinks that it is good to send it back to the previous version.
