JM, What an interesting thout :). Actually, you would be able to use our parser automatically (without intervention) with cron so long as the basic structure of your documentation is not changed. Our current PHP parser produces a "hands free", 100% valid PHP documentation package in the ThoutReader (.jar) XHTML format.
If there are major changes to the structure, then we may need to tweak the parser, but we see that as our job anyway. All we need to know is when such a change takes place. The addition of or minor changes to text would parse beautifully with cron. Mark Mark D.
