Such $_SERVER variables are fed by the server apis (apache, cgi, isapi,..) directly. So it may differ from server to server, and from version to version. Anyway, all SAPIs that support IPv6 probably use the standard notation: "ffff:ffff:ffff:ffff:ffff:ffff".

Subject: [PHP-DOC] IPv6 ?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking in the documentation about IPv6 information... and I can't find it. I would like to make an application that will support IPv6 but I'm wondering what $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] will return. How should I store the ip... It could be a good point to explain a little more what this variable can return.
If I knew, I would do it...

Thank you very much.
