From: g1list_1a at marsdome dot com Operating system: N/A PHP version: Irrelevant PHP Bug Type: Documentation problem Bug description: Misleading description in date() doc
Description: ------------ The documentation for the date() function says "using the given integer timestamp or the current local time if no timestamp is given." But in fact, it's not the current local time being passed in, since timestamps are always UTC regardless of your location or timezone. The documentation for the time() function gets this correct, since it never uses the word "local." What it should say is "...using the given integer timestamp or the current local time if no timestamp is given. The output is formatted based on the current default time zone." It would also help if Example 1 changed the default time zone, so that the different results could be shown for the same input. -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=39137&edit=1 -- Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 4.4): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=trysnapshot44 Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 5.2): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=trysnapshot52 Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 6.0): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=trysnapshot60 Fixed in CVS: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=fixedcvs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=needscript Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=submittedtwice register_globals: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=globals PHP 3 support discontinued: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=php3 Daylight Savings: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=dst IIS Stability: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=gnused Floating point limitations: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=float No Zend Extensions: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=nozend MySQL Configuration Error: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39137&r=mysqlcfg
