The main difficulty I see is that my english -- especially written -- is not perfect; but I hope that won't be too much of a problem, and that someone could help correcting some mistakes I'll make, by proof-reading or something like that? I've never written any "official" doc for PHP, but I'm sure willing to learn; and writting about 5.3 can be nothing but a good way to start ;-)

Don't worry about your english. #1 most of us do not have english as their mother tongue #2 your english is just fine #3 there are others here to help, which is why I have also CC'ed the phpdoc list (this is also the reason why I am leaving the rest of the email below as is).

I suppose I should join an IRC chan to discuss about those matters (I'll be idling quite often, as I work during the day and don't go on IRC at work, and as I'm not necessarily next to the computer all the time in the evening, but that'll probably help) ; any recommandation? ^^

Anyway, now, you both have my e-mail address; so, don't hesitate to contact me! (I dont always read / answer my mails from work, but I try to do so when I'm home in the evening or early in the morning)

Hey Pascal,

The other Pascal said you would be interested in helping out with the upgrading guide? Steph is the one managing the upgrading guide, but its a big task that could use many hands.

There are a lot of notes, though very brief, available on the wiki:
http://wiki.php.net/doc/scratchpad/upgrade/53

The idea is to get something like this:
http://www.php.net/manual/en/migration52.php
http://cvs.php.net/viewvc.cgi/php-src/README.UPDATE_5_2?view=log&pathrev=PHP_5_2
