You can start editing the German docs using https://edit.php.net/. There is a long list of files that need to be updated in the "File needs update" module. This is done by syncing the German version to the English one and putting the $Revision value from the English file into the EN-Revision column of the German file. After you have done some changes put them in a patch, so we can commit them. If everything looks good you should get an SVN account for direct commit access soon.
