this is a little confusing, the email prefs screen doesnt' use these functions.
However, "Couldn't open stream {:143}INBOX" has no hostname in it, the hostname should be just before the :143. Set your imap server hostname in Admin->Email->Site Config, or use the email prefs to add custom settings.
