But, when you're looking for a SyncML aware software, you will always get a list of supported devices, because there are minor differences between the various implementations of SyncML and the way the data is sent within SyncML. The most common container to transport information within SyncML is vCard and iCal, but there's also the XML format of the Funambol clients. For example, if a contact belongs to several categories, Outlook needs the categories as semicolon separated string, while the PPC needs it as comma seperated string.
The advantage of the Funambol plugins for Outlook or the PPC is, that you can test it by using existing network connections and not via GPRS. In addition, since version 3.x, the Funambol plugins can choose to send the data as vCard/ iCal or the Funambol XML-Format.
