Hi all,

I know HTML5 is still in draft stage, but I think we should be paying
some attention to it as get closer to a release of trunk (formerly HEAD)
as 0.9.18 some time in the new year.

There are some part of the HTML5 spec which are relevant to us. All
developers should try to avoid using any of the elements and attributes
which will be removed in HTML5. The list is at
http://www.w3.org/html/wg/html5/diff/#absent-elements All of attributes
can be handled by CSS.

There are serious issues with the HTML5 spec, such as the removal of ogg
as the preferred video container format, after lobbying by apple and
nokia. See
http://rudd-o.com/archives/2007/12/11/removal-of-ogg-vorbis-and-theora-from-html5-an-outrageous-disaster/
for more info (watch the wrapping).

Cheers

Dave
