you can change the folder names via phpgw's folder management or any
IMAP client.  however, it is possible that "INBOX" has special meaning
to the imap server and can't be changed.

the main issue here is that these strings are from an external source
and thus consiedred "user data", and in general it's considered bad
form to modify user data in any way.

named through translation.

One cannot expect the mayority of users to be able to open their homedir e.g. 
with ftp and change the foldernames.
