See my post couple of weeks ago: "PLA 1.2.0.5: Session authentica
tion and login attr combination does not work", I have the same
problem.
Cookie does not work at all, and with session, using mail attribute to
login fails.
I hope we can somehow get the solution to this issue. For workaround,
I have done separate page for users so they can convert their email
address to DN for logging in with that.
