No. On 64 bits, the -m32 switch is needed for the C sources. Otherwise
it won't run on a 64-bit architecture due to the VM pointer structure
interpretation.

The optimum is to build
   - the C version on 32-bit architectures
   - the asm version on adm64 and (as of today) ppc64
   - otherwise, the C version with -m32 switch
