Uuhh! Sorry! I was completely off the track! 'int' is *always* 32 bit in size, on every system I've seen so far! How could I forget and confuse this? So the whole concept of 292MY in pil21 is nonsense. It never worked, because poll() would never wake up for timeouts greater than 24.86 days.
