Hi, i did some debugging and killed most of the issues that stopped even basic win32 support however a major problem stays, somehow a background worker thread is accessing gdk, which works fine in gdk for x11, but is a major killer on gdk for windows.
I'm hoping to find a proper solution for this issue before Christmas. There doesn't seem to be any debugger that can handle win32 threads for python (at least i failed finding one), so i'll have to resort to debugging by code-review and debug-stepping on Linux as well as regular testing in my vm.
