Santhosh Srinivasan commented on PIG-571: ----------------------------------------- Thanks for the patch Laukik. A similar fix has been made as part of PIG-588. Its pending a review. This bug addresses the fact that Pig does not throw an exception when the registerQuery() method reports a failure. This affects Java programs that use this API. > pigserver methods do not throw error or return error code when an error occurs > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > Key: PIG-571 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PIG-571 > Project: Pig > Issue Type: Bug > Affects Versions: types_branch > Reporter: Christopher Olston > Assignee: Santhosh Srinivasan > Attachments: ret_code.diff > > > I do PigServer.registerQuery("store ..."), and the query fails. Pig prints a > bunch of stack traces but does not throw an error back to the caller. This is > a major problem because my client needs to know whether the Pig command > succeeded or failed. > I saw this problem with registerQuery() ... the same problem may arise with > other PigServer methods as well, such as store(), copy(), etc. -- not sure. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - You can reply to this email to add a comment to the issue online.
