There are error messages coming out of gnome-shell that sound like it's race conditions triggering its window tracking getting totally screwed. owen said he didn't think they had done anything that would intentionally disrespect the apps choices differently from metacity. So I'm assuming this is just a WM bug and not something we need to change behavior for, other than saving ourselves some debugging time while it continues to exist. https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=680214
