Hello,

We are evaluating piler as solution for e-mail archiving atm. It looks and
works great so far. Available Debian/Ubuntu Packages would be a great plus, but
compiling piler is not a great deal if you found out which packages are
required. In the first pass I changed the datadir to a path other than /var.
This was a great mistake and I installed it again. There are several path that
aren't changed by the postinstall script, especially in the Web-UI. Maybe this
is something that should be tested further.

However there is one point I'm wondering about. We are using Exchange and setup
a journaling mailbox some years ago. Of course we like to import these mails.
This works great with pilerimport. I see no advantage in using smtp-forwarding
mails to piler. Rather than that I like to use the journaling mailbox and
import the mails regularly with pilerimport. So it's no problem is the archive
host is down some time etc. The one point I'm missing or haven't found is the
switch which tells pilerimport to delete a mail after it was successfully
imported. Isn't there one or was I to blind to find it?

Regards
Jan
