A thumbs-up to POD from me:

It's a hell of a lot easier for people to *write* than Docbook or *roff,
or even HTML.   And let's face it, manual pages just need to be
informative, and to conform to the simple manual-page style; and if it's
easy to update them, they'll be, and stay, informative.

Also, there's converters to plain-text and HTML, so there's your Pilot
Doc/Plucker/iSilo support, straight away... ;)
