No.

Long:
I have worked with cable modems.  I am assuming the modem you speak of
is a 3com?

If I'm correct these ports are used for a serial devel debug console.  There
is no internet connection available.  If there was, it would mean your
cable modem was a standard serial modem.  This is not true.
