I am currently running linux 2.4.5-ac8 and pilot-link 0.9.5-pre5. I am
not able to hotsync my palmIIIxe using a serial port. It also does not
work in the stock mandrake 2.4.3, nor did it work with any other 2.4.x
I've tried. I don't have serial compiled as a module, and statserial
for /dev/pilot (ttyS0) shows a change of "Data Set Ready" to 1 when I
put the palm on the cradle, and "Clear to Send" to 1 when I push the
hotsync button. pilot-link just sits there and waits forever when I run
it. It does not appear to connect to the palm at all, although it gives
no error. I am able to sync under windows, and I can sync with 2.2.x
kernels, I've never had a problem with those. I ran a strace on
pilot-link and it appears to be getting bytes from the serial port. The
strace is here: http://skiingyac.dhs.org/projects/strace.txt since its a
hundred lines or so (I had to kill it, it didn't stop on its own). I've
been struggling this for some time, no updates or config changes seem to
help. If I reboot to a 2.2.x kernel, it works right away. Is there
anything else I could provide that would be helpful? Any help would be
greatly appreciated.
