Howdy,

I am trying to use pi-getrom (0.9.5) on my kyocera smartphone to
obtain a ROM image that I could then use in the POSE emulator. I am
using the Debian testing distribution, which distributes version 3.0a3
of the emulator. pi-getrom creates a rom-image file for me, but when I
load that file into the emulator it crashes immediately. I also get a
crash if I try to load the image into the windoze compiled version of
the pose emulator (running under vmware). My question is: is this
because the ROM of the smartphone is nonstandard and pose cannot
handle it, or is it because of some problem with pi-getrom, or is it a
problem with pose itself? I think I've ruled out the latter by testing
the image with the windoze emulator.

If its the case that I really can't use the smartphone rom, I've tried
to do the developer registeration and get the ROM images advertised by
palm. When I enter into the Resource Pavillion, I don't see any
obvious place to find the images. Do I have to pay for these? If so,
does anyone have any other leads on where to get these images? Also
what would be the most appropriate image for me to use? I basically
want to update data files on the pc, and then transfer them to the
phone. My phone palm OS is v 3.5.

Thanks a bunch,

Mark Dwyer
