I gave up on filters altogether, and just started shooting color film. This allows me to adjust contrast and convert to greyscale in PHotoshop. You have an astounding amount of contrast control- much better than filters could ever give. At least, that is my experience. This site appears to talk about it: http://www.bythom.com/bandw.htm
