Hi everyone,

I am Thibault Saunier, a French computer science student. I am very
interested in participating in the Google summer of code 2010, and the
Pitivi project seems to be very interesting for me.

Last year I participated in the Google summer of code for gnome doing
the "Nautilus: add Google documents support"[2] project.

I already know about (a bit) Gstreamer, Python and Gtk since last
year I wrote a video player[1] using those technologies as part of my
studies.
My question is: do you think "Implement a bunch of visual effects,
integrating gst's plug-ins for effecttv, frei0r, gl-based effects,
cairo-based effects, etc" idea would be a realistic one for my Gsoc
project? I actually suppose I can manage it and am sure it is a pretty
important point for Pitivi to be more useful for end users.
I have looked for some code implementing it, but I think you didn't
start it, am I right? (if not could you give me a link to the
implementation/patch?)

I would also like to know how do you expect it to be implemented?

If you don't think this idea can't be a Gsoc project, what kind of
project do you expect us to do?

Thanks in advance for you answers

Thibault Saunier

PS: I am going to hang around the #Pitivi IRC channels the coming
days/week, my name is thiblahute on freenode. I would like to have a
discussion with you about it there if you are interested!
