In my case PiTiVi never missed more than two frames, so the gaps weren't
really noticeable. But if the gaps in your video are wider than that,
then I guess this isn't a good solution either. Anyway, I have edited
only video with it but I'm pretty sure Avidemux takes care of the audio
track too, so at least that shouldn't be out of sync. I hope you find a
way to solve your problems. I wish I could have been more helpful but
unfortunately I have no experience at all in programming!

Interesting, but what do you fill the black frames with? Do you have
to import the original clip to fill it in? If you just deleted the
frames the audio would not sync, though i suppose you could fill them
with the next properly-rendered frame, but the gap is very noticable,
much more than just a few frames
I would also be willing to try fixing this bug (new to programming,
but eager to keep learning), or at least dig into it a bit, if someone
would be willing to mentor me!

Hi! I am by no means an experienced PiTiVi user, but I had a
similar problems during transitions where the last frame was
frequently (but not always) replaced by a black frame. I managed
to overcome this annoying bug by importing the rendered project in
Avidemux and thanks to that I was able to quickly erase all the
black frames. It takes a few minutes and works really well!
I know this is more of a workaround but until they solve this bug
I hope it helps you finish your project!
Giacomo.

Hello awesome PiTiVi people!
I understand your time is valuable, so i'm not trying to make any
demands as so many users seem to feel entitled to.
I like PiTiVi a lot, and want to promote it. I filmed the second
half of Reddit's interview with Noam Chomsky. The first half
received over 50,000 views, just on YouTube, and was mirrored by
Wired and other sites.
I've prepared this video buffer that i was planning on inserting
into the video: http://imgur.com/VW8bk&hexrZl?full
<http://imgur.com/VW8bk&hexrZl?full> and will mention PiTiVi in
the video description on YouTube as well as on my blog. The
problem is that this singular bug has been preventing me from
finishing editing the video:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=629872
I'm not sure if this is incentive enough for someone to fix the
bug, but i thought it would be worth a shot. If not, that's okay,
i'll try to be as patient as i can and help out where possible,
for the squashing of this bug!
