I had a large sinus plug where they had gone through for the surgery.  The Dr removed it in the office.  I was very large and disgusting but I felt 100percent better.  The bad smell in my nose disappeared immediately.

I had a couple of big clotted mucous/blood things in my nose after surgery too.  If I remember correctly, something smelled a bit strange for a few days a couple weeks after surgery until I sneezed and coughed at the same time and something pretty large and disgusting actually came flying out of my throat.  I think it had been up in my sinuses for awhile.

Sorry if that grossed anyone out.  But I'm hoping to maybe help someone to relax, knowing that this stuff is "normal".

Anyhow, I breathed and smelled better after that.  I hadn't had a problem with taste though, although chewing was difficult for awhile because my teeth were sensitive and my upper lip/gums felt tight.  I still have very sensitive front teeth and have to use a straw to drink anything with ice in it.  It wasn't like that pre-surgery.  (it's been 5 years since my surgery now).
