He is doing a line to do 24 hr blood sampling. He has probably ordered some other tests. The tests are not invasive, just time consuming.
 
You should be fine.
 
One of my doctors doesn't tell me what he orders and I don't find out until I show up, so I don't worry about it. One of my other doctors orders his tests after he and I talk - then he decides what he is going to do.
 
Dr. L is having you go through an established protocol. Many patients suspected of having cushings are given a 24 hr urine free cortisol test or an overnight dex test and if they come back normal, that's it, no more testing.
 
Dr. L is basing his testing on your symptomology - sort of a fishnet approach.
 
There is always the possibility though that your empty sella is caused by increased pressure of your csf and that pressure could be putting pressure on your pituitary and causing you some problems. You might want to discuss that possibility with him too. It's not unheard of.
