Hey Lawana, Thanks for the reply, and sorry to hear you are having so many problems. I was diagnosed with a Macroadenoma (2.5 cm in diameter, prolactin producing) in 1997. I did have surgery in 1997 as well things were going pretty good after the surgery, normal prolactin, no headaches. stupid me I went back on The Pill ( I think this caused my problem to begin with) 11/2 years ago and in less than a year prolactin was up I was lactating and the headaches and tiredness were all starting again. I have had an MRI and they say there is residual tumor left, very very small but causing problems none the less. I am 24 years old and have been living with this since I was 16. I have come to realize that I know more than my doctors about how my body feels and i am not afraid to let them know that. Headaches are a sure symptom of pit tumors yet most docs say no, what's all that about? Also I have gained in and around 40lbs and am not able tolose it mostly arms and stomache, but cortisol is normal. The docs say that the pit tumor is not the cause of this either.I have just started dostinex 1/2 pill twice a week, the only side effect I am noticing is I tend to get a headache the day after I take the pill and I am pretty tired, hope this gets better. My family doctor is great though and that really helps, he's always in my corner. I think I have come to accept that this tumor is a part of me for now. I have also come to realize that a lot more education and resources need to be put towards understanding and curing pit tumors. |
