Re: endo follow up: hi! - well i knew why he called me in early before i even got there. he wanted to push for the pit stim test with blood sugar drop. i respectfully declined citing the previous test in 99 before my pit surgery. this test is a standard for the industry. but i once again reminded his of the problems i had from it. in the 99 test he dropped my sugar level down to 25 or 27. if you've never been that low, its terrifying. you feel your not gonna survive. my wife was required to be there to drive me home because i was "wasted". when blood suger level drops so low, the pit see's this as a threat to the body and kicks in your glands/ haromes to conpensate by pouring sterss harmones into the blood stream. thus keeping you alive. diabetics inject insulin for the same purpose. the endo gets a "snapshot" from constant blood tests going down &commin back up., so he can see amount of haromes pouring into bloodstream. its also a test for GH. the test is approx 4 hrs long. so i hit the "chicken switch", and he is going to find another test. i just cant go thru that again. especially with excessive fatigue. this test makes you fell like you have run 20 miles with no break. you sweat, huff &puff, color vision goes to black &white. i saw little "sparkles". we'll get the job done a different way. the test will show pit function and GH. if i qualify he sends documents to insurance co because of excessive cost. so thats it. ill wait for his call. he's a really hands on endo i we get along fine. no friction here. and he has my trust. i had him pull up my last mri in aug of 03. here is size of my pit: 27mm x 27mm x 31 mm. yeah its big...life goes on....gary ps: my bloodwork results will be sent to me in about 3 days. my endo has an in house lab.
