Allergies-I don't get them!

I have terrible allergies which I only started getting after being diagnosed with a pituitary tumour.    Since then I've been forced to do my own research on the correlation between allergies and the prolactinoma because there is no endocrinologist, particularly male ones, that I have seen that are willing to take any steps towards even remotely seeing a correlation....frustrating and annoying in 2004 to think we still have doctors who don't understand this subtle ties with other areas of the body!

The best I can come up with from what I've read is that some sort of connection between secreting hormones, higher and lower progesterone and estrogen can 'feed' the sugars in your body and increase candida in the intestines which often triggers allergies and/or your immunity lowers with the stress factor of the hormones effecting you and in turn a low tolerance for environmental allergies occurs.  Often the stress on the body can trigger a disruption in the body balance (homeostasis) which can lead to adreniline overactivity and physical illness (infections, allergies etc.).   I learned a lot of this through a book called 'Screaming to Be Heard' by Elizabeth Lee Vliet, M.D. 'Hormone Connections women suspect and doctors still ignore.

I am not saying the above is completely accurate but I have candida and I learned a lot from how there is a correlation to people with this type of yeast overgrowth and my hormonal problems with the pituitary tumour.    My allergies are worse when I eat foods with high sugars etc. and my candida becomes disruptive.   I now have sinus, ear and throat troubles because of the allergies too.   I am not endorsing this website but I did learn a bit about the correlation between food & candida and allergies at www.wholeapproach.com.
