Sinus Infection

I can't find my original post. About a week ago I had asked if anyone had any experience with sphenoid sinus infections. The subject was HELP!!!

After a final  round of antibiotics, which was the fourth, 3 antibiotic injections, 2 steroid injections, 2 rounds of meds for yeast infections (result of all the antibiotics) my GP sent me to a ENT doctor. His words were that he would probably "drill out" my sphenoid sinus. I was sick with panic.

I saw the ENT doctor a couple of days ago. He sprayed this awful medicine in my nostrils that deadened my entire head and then rammed a 10 foot tube (well, not quite that long, but it felt like it) with a camera on it up through the base of my skull around the sphenoid sinus (I started panicking thinking I couldn't breathe and sweating like a big horse). He said he wasn't sure that I ever had a sinus infection and that all my sinuses looked good. He thinks what the radiologist saw on the CT scan was where they had to patch the area with my own body fat when I had the pituitary surgery. I then remembered how they thought I had another tumor when I had my first MRI at home because of it.

I still have my original problem which is severe headaches. I had not had them since my pituitary surgery. When I awoke in the recovery room it was such a relief for them to be gone.

I am so tired of seeing doctors. I see 4 regularly plus a physical therapist twice a week.

I just needed to scream once and get this off my chest. Thanks to all for listening!
