Michelle: I was interested to see your post. I have not heard of another approach other than surgery for a non-functioning tumor. I had endonasal surgery for a 4 cm, non-functioning tumor June 14 at the Skull Base Surgery Center in Cedars-Sinai. I'm from Montana (originally from Denver) and consulted three surgeons before picking Dr. Shahinian, who, as you will read from other posts as well as mine, is amazing. I think it is a good idea to check with another doc who does another approach, just so that you will have a comparison and feel assured that the surgeon you chose is the best for you. I also wanted you to know that my surgery went very well, no complications at all. I am feeling great, even less than three months after the surgery. I commend your attempt to do as much research as you can as you analyze your choices. Carol Schmidt |
