This is my second time with cushing's and I also would prefer to sleep all
day rather than getting up and do things. I fall asleep everywhere and
anywhere at this point. I have heard of some people that are the opposite
though and cannot stop and have insomnia with cushing's.
The first time I was diagnosed was in 2000 but I had been with symptoms and
complaining to doctors about it for about three years before the diagnosis was
finally done, I had a pituitary macroadenoma that was removed in January
2001.
Since may 2003, I was tested again for cortisol levels after complaining
for about 4 months because my symptoms had returned. My levels were high,
retested and they were normal.....tested again and they were high. Tried a few
medications.....symptoms have continued and things are now worse than the first
time I went through it. The problem now is that they cannot see a tumor on the
MRI. I had a 48 hour dex/CRH supression test and it confirmed pituitary
cushing's again this time. No tumor is seen so now I'm probably going to be
looking into a petrosal sinus sampling next and the endo is talking about
adrenalectomy as well and then maybe radiation to the pituitary gland. We'll
see....it has been a long road and I have much more symptoms this time around
than the first time I had this.
