Dear Mary,
Hi , this is Mal from Australia, and I have recently been diagnosed with a pit. tumor.
You may have heard from my wife Jan earlier. I too was feeling so tired and run down, I've already had some 460 hour of sick leave so far this year, with doctors that are playing with out lives.
With a lot of persistence , my wife finally got me into see a nuro surgeon after my so called specialist gave up one he found out that I had a pituitary tumor. He was so sure that all I had was Addison's deases. And thats all he wanted to treat me for.
Now once I saw the nuro surg. He put me straight onto a endo, and an optimologist.( who I am yet to see, but thats next week :) ) Luckily I had all my Blood test results to give to the Endo and he immediately put me on thyroxin and testosterone patches. and he also order another batch of Blood tests. ( I've never had 7 vial of Blood taken from me in one sitting.) Luckily for me , the one thing that he wanted to up was the testosterone . And thrust me, apart from a little blurred vision, I feel like my old self again.
Mary I'm not hear to tell you what to do, But if you can , get your daughter to have an MRI of the brain. this will show anything that is wrong. ( and trust me , I doesn't hurt , you just have to lay there very still for about half an hour. and its just like having a blood test when they put the contrast in.) And for those wondering, I had an MRI last week, and drove home from it. And I'm an hour away from where I had it done .
My symptoms started out as a Summer cold, that never got better.
Best of luck with everything, and trust me there is hope . I'm just so lucky that I have a wife in Jan that has stuck by me through all this.
Your in our prays , and Batwishes
Cheers Mal / mouse_drac
