Hi Kath!

Welcome to the group!

Kath, when my doctor tried Dostinex on me (I have Cushings), my blood pressure actually normalized. I wonder if anyone else has had cardiac events such as yours on the Dostinex?

Dostinex can be effective for Cushings for a short time. In my case, it worked for about a year before my cortisols started rising (along with the weight - ugh)

After I stopped the Dostinex, boy did my blood pressure get out of control. The cardiologist had to stop me on my stress test, because my blood pressure was just too high. I was started on an ACE inhibitor, but my internal medicine doctor moved me to a beta blocker (said I'd do better on the beta blocker when I have surgery). I see my cardiologist next week. I don't know what he will say when he hears my pcp changed my meds around. Doctors can be so territorial - grin.

I am glad though that you are seeing your cardiologist. Perhaps your endo can put you on a different dopamine agonist? You might want to wait though to see if you do indeed have Cushings. Cushings is tough to diagnose, so you may be in for some extensive testing.

Keep us posted on how you are doing!

Minnie
