Hi, It sounds like your sister already has the most important thing she will need-someone who cares for her. I was very lucky to have family & friends close by for support. After the operation, it was great to have family & friends with me. Sometimes to talk to, and other times to just sit by me while I slept. Things get pretty basic in the hospital. I just wanted to be as comfortable as possible. My Aunt ,who was a nurse, bought mouth swabs and skin lotions. Another great gift was a TV Guide. When I wasn't sleeping I was watching TV. My Mother kept a journal of what was happening to me. It was great to have as a reference of what happened and to help me deal with what occured. Best of luck to your sister, I'll say a prayer all goes well.
