Ashley,

IMHO you should find another doctor who will be straight forward and honest with you.  Not only do you have a right to know all the facts pretaining to your case you have an obligation to yourself to know them.  You will be seeing several doctors before this is over and only you can make sure that all the information is shared between them.

You should get a three ring binder and get coppies of all test and reports and keep them in order by date.  You should also get coppies of all MRI's and CAT scans for your personal file that you can take with you when you see other Drs.

You have to take charge of your own treatment, if you don't you can become lost in the system with Drs. talking past each other and no one in charge.

Unless you are a minor child the doctors should be talking to you not your mother.  It is good to take someone with you to appointments, just to have another set of ears and questions, but the doctor should be making sure that you understand your condition and options.

We will keep you in our prayers,
Daryl
