Extreme thirst

Hi everybody, found this site a couple of weeks ago and am seeking both to be a support and receive support.

I was diagnosed with a 2.9 cm nonfunctioning pit tumor a year ago. It was (and still is) creating a big black spot in my right eye's vision. It took two transphenoidal surgeries to stop the tumor pressing on my optic nerve. The last MRI showed no tumor (or that it was at least too small to see). Now it's recheck time- my opthamologist tells me my right eye is no better, and the left eye has a slight reduction in the visual field so he's slightly concerned the tumor may be back. I go to the endocrinologist and he says my prolactin is elevated, as it was when the tumor was big. I will be having an MRI in a week or so and am anxiously awaiting the results.

What's perplexing me now is my extreme thirst/urination. I thought for sure it must be diabetes insipidus. But after the 24 urine collection, and the water deprivation test my endocrinologist says I test normal. My blood sugar is 102. I am totally perplexed as to why I am so thirsty. I know there's tendency to blame everything on the pit tumor. In this case, it looks like it's not involved. Has anybody ever heard of a case like inine before? Extreme thirst but testing normally on the 24 hour & water deprivation test?

Sheesh!
