Gloria- I went through exactly the same thing for 14 years! I also have Crohn's disease, so the doctors kept telling me that the reason why I was so 'tired" (I kept trying to explain that it was more severe than 'tired' & that I also had muscle weakness and got run down very easily & shaky etc.) was due to the Crohn's & not getting enough nutrition. I beleived them for 14 years until one day I statred piecing together some of my symptoms. I would have something like adrenal overload right after a high stress situation & get real weak and shaky & lightheaded & naseus after & I thought that maybe it might be adrenal fatigue. I looked up the symptoms on the net & I had like almost all the symptoms- I wrote them down & took them to a new doctor- He asked me just one question "How is your libido'? I said 'no good' & he immediately set up an appointment with an endo- 1 question! that's all he asked! & right away he diagnosed what was wrong! I went for 14 years feeling aweful & I didn't have to. Grrrr. Doctors just won't listen. (Btw, I have acromegaly too)

Going in for surgery in a couple of weeks.

Heart- you really need to stress to your doctor that something isn't right & that you would like to see an endo because pit tumors are hard to diagnose. The average diagnosis time for acromegaly patient is 12 years because it comes on so gradually & people don't see drastic changes rightr away. If you have a tu8mor (Hopefully not) then the earlier they diagnose it, the better your chances of recovery. You tell your doctor that if she/he were feeling as aweful as you are that you know that they'd be 'on the internet' finding out info as well!!! You tell them something is wrong and that you want answers. I wonder if the doctors would accuse their children of 'too much internet' if they didn't feel well and wanted answers?
