My 13 yo daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy last summer. She was having HUNDREDS of absence seizures every day. First they tried her on zarontin, which didn't control her seizures and gave her awful side effects. Then they tried her on lamictal. At 200 mg 2x/day her seizures are completely under control now with NO side effects. She's doing great. I don't know anything about using this drug for mood disorders, though her neurologist informed us that there is a genetic link between epilepsy, depression, migraines and sleep disorders.
