Jules,

This sounds familiar.  I am 39 and always had periods, but did not ovulate.  I know this because, when I do occasionally ovulate, I get ovarian cysts which cause a different kind of misery, and pregnant-belly sensation.  And pain, but this is off-track.

To answer your question, YES!!!  This happened to me when I stopped taking Parlodel before switching to Dostinex.  I gained 10 lbs in about 6 weeks, and felt very pregnant.  Looked it, too.  Thankfully, in my part of the world, in winter, it was easy to wear bulky clothing, but I felt HORRIBLE.  My best friend was actually pregnant at the time, and we'd compare bellies.  You can guess how that turned out most of the time. . .

Within exactly one week (7 days, so 2 doses of Dostinex), 5 lbs were gone.  My whole belly felt different as the excess fluid began to clear.

It has been a month now, and I feel mostly back to myself -- with 6 or 7 of the 10 lbs gone.  Pregnant-pooch is gone, and I feel human again.  Losing the remaining weight will take longer, but it is all going in the right direction.

With more weight accumulated over longer periods of time, it may take longer to lose as well -- but I can provide one bit of encouragement that, within a week or two, it is possible to notice a drop in excess fluid, and that it can keep getting better from there.

Good luck!
