Dostinex and joints

Excellent point!  I hadn't even thought about the anesthesia or other meds that are sure to come.  I most definitely need to discuss the Dostinex with my doctors.

As for the drop in estrogen, caused by elevated prolactin, all of my other hormone levels have always been in normal range except prolactin.  Bone densities are strong too, despite +12 years without treatment and a year and half without a period.  I don't think going off Dostinex temproarily for surgery/recovery will be a problem, and I'm pretty sure my endo will give the OK if the OS and anesthesiologist thinks its necessary.  The endo gave me the option of taking Dostinex to begin with.  My family may object though....I don't think they want to see the moody, angry me back, even if its temporary LOL

I just picked up a new prescription of Dostinex, and while scanning through the patient info....looking for info on joints.....I noticed it says to "report the use of drugs that cause drowsiness like.........narcotic pain relivers (e.g. codeine)".  Guess what I've been taking for pain!  Codeine!  The GP that prescribed the codeine is the same one that is montioring my prolactin and keeping my Dostinex scrips updated now that my hormones are normalized on Dostinex. Haven't had any problems with the codeine and Dostinex, but have been taking the codeine very sparingly.  It looks like Percocet is generally prescribed to most patients following this knee surgery, and that's a lot stronger so could be a problem.  The anesthesia could certainly be a problem!  Thanks for pointing the med interactions out!!  I'll definitely discuss this with the OS and anesthesiologist!
