HI Jean - Jason was 17 when he was diagnosed. She is very careful regarding taking kids as patients because children's systems do . I think it comes down to what type of disease they have, and how young they are. Since Jason had acromegaly, and was huge - over 6'7" tall it was determined that he should be seen by an endocrinologist that treats adults. I am not sure what else I can share with you. I would suggest that she sees an endocrinologist and have the bloodwork done. It could be that if she had a definitive diagnosis it could be helpful in getting into Dr. Maas.
