Hi
Its been a while since I posted, been so busy with Uni, but always try to read new messages and this one caught my attention particuarly.  I had my latest appointment with 'a' endo last week (seems like the one I stated with is elsewhere, and I now have someone who I think really needs to more about my condition)  Anyway, it turns out my Prolactin levels have gone back up, they are now at about 2450, after reducing greatly last September to 650 from 3500.  Originally they were 46,000 and  did decrease as soon as I started taking dostinex in January 2004.  As a result I have now to take 3 dostinex tablets a week, which has not thrilled me at all.  I wouldnt say I have bad side effects, but side effects nonetheless.  Obviously I am concerned at my levels going back up, and wondering if the dostinex is really helping.  I know these are questions I should be asking my endo, but if I am telling the truth, he really wasnt helpful and had to refer to book about  dostinex and dosages, to determine whether or not to increase mine. My tumour, when first diagnosed was about 2.5cm by 3.5 (I think) and I have not had a scan since (they say its not needed at this stage?) so I must rely on the dostinex, and like I said I have a few concerns about it.  I was thinking if the increase in my prolactin levels had anything to do with my period returning? Thankfully it has returned (between my last and current appointment), always a positive sign I think.  Im really not sure, but will wait till I get my levels checked in 5 weeks by my GP  and then look forward to my next appointment with the endo in 3 months, maybe he will know more by then?
Was also wondering -  is it ok to take the birth control pill whils on dostinex.  My endo said no for sure, but I have read on this page and elsewhere that it is ok - Im confused!
If anybody has any info that might alleviate my confusion it would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much!
