That's why you see a reproductive endo-the best of both specialities! I was diagnosed with PCOs two years ago. Last fall when I had a large ovarian cyst, that turned out to be a cystic tumor, I first saw a gyn. He directed me to a gyn surgeon who told me that the mass was no longer there and there was no need for treatment. I saw a rep endo just a week later and he diagnosed me with a large complex cyst (endometrioma.) If I had listened to the gyn surgeon, I may have ignored the symptoms and I may have placed my health in danger. The rep endo I saw was much more thorough than any doctor I have seen. My regular endo washed his hands of it and told me that it was not his specialty. My gyn told me to see him in a year. Meanwhile, the ovarian tumor was growing. I believe going to the rep endo was my best move yet in my quest for diagnosis/treatment. If you have been diagnosed with PCOs or any hormonal-reproductive disease, I advise you consult a reproductive endo. |
