Tilt Table Test

Thank you for your replies. I saw the cardiologist and he told me something very interesting. He believes that my spells are caused by an autonomic nervous system imbalance, which is more of a HORMONAL imbalance. He is still checking my heart, I hava bunch of tests scheduled including the TTT. He wants to rule out any heart problems and then he will diagnose me with the autonomic nervous system imbalance. I had to read up on the autonomic nervous system-it is the system that controls the glands-the "fight" or "flight" response which we all know starts with hormones and specifically, adrenal hormones like adrenaline, adolsterone, and cortisol. I was impressed that he believes that my spells are caused by a hormonal imbalance. He is the first doctor I have seen that has attributed my spells or any symptoms, for that matter, to the tumor and possible cushings. I am very glad I saw him, even if he still wants me to have the TTT.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I became alcohol intollerant - I have found studies that show that pituitary abnormalities and hormonal imbalance can cause alcohol intollerance. I have not been able to consume alcohol in years. I will get an extreme migraine and hangover with just a sip of beer/wine. Funny, I used to drink all my guy friends under the table. See what happens?:-P

LosNaz, are your hormones regulated? You do need prednisone (replacement cortisol) post-op. I hope they find a way to balance your hormones, soon. As for your frequent dizziness, try to up your electrolyte intake. An easy way to do that is to drink gatorade. I used to be dizzy all the time until I increased my electrolytes by consuming gatorade. Riptide Rush (light purple) is really good-so is the blue, yellow, and green. Good stuff! I could not believe how much better I felt after I started drinking gatorade.

Take care. I'll be praying for your recovery.
