I concur 5 weeks is too early. Initially my IGF-1 was 1112 - after 6 weeks 600s and after 12 weeks 400s. I just started Sandostatin LAR and will have my level check after 3 months on the medication. I think that the tumor can permanently damage the pituitary to the point that when the tumor is removed the pituitary gland still over produces the hormone. I do not think that high levels necessarily inicate that the tumor is still present.
