Fasting? Do you or don't you for Prolaction level testing?

That's interesting - I was told something similar by my OBGYN, that it had to do less with the factor of eating and more with the time of day and activities prior to the blood draw, so she said that mornings before eating were best for it. Though, annoyingly enough, she ordered a re-test after my initial reading of about 115 (taken in the morning @ 9:30 without eating) again, at the same time of day, under fasting conditions. I guess that's okay (insurance pays for test-only visits), but still rather a pain, and it still is a cost! Funny little issues with testing, though. |
